About the DigiFab
The Digital Fabrication lab is where the virtual and physical worlds converge with precision and speed. This area is dedicated to rapid, iterative prototyping and the creation of complex geometries that would be impossible with traditional tools. It serves as a gateway to advanced manufacturing, offering a suite of technologies from foundational FDM 3D printing to high-resolution resin and industrial-strength SLS printing. Coupled with laser cutters for precise 2D work and dedicated electronics benches, this space empowers users to quickly validate designs, create custom components, and integrate sophisticated electronic controls into their projects.
Example Uses
Printing structural parts for a capstone prototype.
Creating engraved enclosures for electronics projects.
Cutting acrylic panels for displays or assemblies.
Equipment
FDM 3D Printers
A large fleet of PLA/ABS printers for everyday prototyping.
Resin (SLA) Printers
High-resolution printing for small detailed components.
Powder (SLS) Printers
High-strength, high-throughput printer for multiple piece projects.
Laser Cutters
2D cutting and engraving of wood, acrylic, and select plastics.
Electronics Workbenches
Standard electronics tools like oscilloscopes, waveform generators, power supplies, and soldering irons for basic electronics needs.
